Currently, as Senior Advisor to the UN Secretary-General's Tech Envoy and a member of the Secretariat for the UN Secretary-General's High-Level Advisory Body on AI, I lead global initiatives to advance AI capacity-building, safeguard digital public infrastructure, and shape collaborative ecosystems for innovation. As Chair of the UN Open Source Conference, I drive open-source strategies that enable ethical, transparent, and impactful technology development.
Previously, as the Scientific and Technical Director at EPFL, I led the €1 billion Human Brain Project, spearheading innovations in neuromorphic computing and brain simulation platforms. As Chief AI Officer at HealthAI, I directed high-impact AI initiatives from strategy to deployment, managing cross-functional teams to deliver transformative healthcare solutions. At the University of Geneva, I founded and led an AI research lab that pioneered advancements in health, finance, and risk management.
My leadership experience extends to collaboration with global organizations, including the G20, G7, OECD, and WHO, aligning technology strategies with international objectives.
